Today’s post comes to you via Laura. She asked me to update her ‘Meet some Clients’ entry with this she had to say about the New Year and what that means to her. Frankly, I think it deserves a spotlight here first, plus it means I have less to do this morning….thanks for that Laura, and thanks for sharing—->
I have never been a fan of New Years Resolutions. As a person who has been overweight the majority of my life, it was just a time of failure. Even now, I see so many people make goals that won't be met and fill gyms that you know will be empty in a month, and I wonder, why do we bother?? That being said, several years ago I lost over 50 pounds after making a New Years Resolution to lose weight. Why was I successful this one time when I had failed so many other times in the past? I found happiness. I felt good making the decisions I was making. I knew I was improving my life in such a way that I never wanted to go back to the past me. My weight loss goals turned out to not be a New Years Resolution, but a life resolution. Life resolutions tend to stick with you. If you haven't, I want to encourage everyone to make a life resolution at the beginning of this New Year. It is a time for fresh starts. Find something that brings you happiness, and pursue it. Make a resolution to grow in some way, to learn something new. Have an adventure that you have always (or maybe never have) dreamed of... and then brag about it to others. Take what you know, and share it. Teach others the lessons you have learned. And last but not least, pass on the goodness and kindness you have found in others. Our world needs more of it. Laura
Good words!!
